Youth Paddle 52 Days On Remote Canadian Rivers

Best thing to do during college summer break? This looks great (wish we’d done it).

Beginning last July, 14 young adults spent 52 days paddling the Wind, Peel and Mackenzie Rivers in the Yukon and Northwest Territories.  In doing so, they had to cross over the Continental Divide with about 650 pounds of gear in each canoe – enough to make most paddlers cry.  They didn’t, though.

These youth tackled some of the most remote country and unforgiving rivers with a generous dose of humor.  90% of their journey seems filled with joy, laughter and off the-cuff resourcefulness.  They even celebrate Christmas, just for fun, complete with stockings (stinky), gifts and a bedazzled tree. Who brings along decorations on their canoe trip?

The video chronicling their journey is over 45 minutes long… and worth every minute.

A+, class, for your accomplishments! You’ve left us all awestruck and a bit jealous.

It has been a while since I last signed into my vimeo account, but when I did I notice my video had been linked to your page. Thank you for your kind words about the video. I’m thrilled to know that others are able to enjoy it as much as those of us who were on the trip.
    Cheers,

It remindes me that you never forget adventures and life is to short to stay inside.
