This made us do a double-take: A pocket-size monopod you can stake into the ground.
The Twig Pod is a handy-looking creation by Alite Designs. The folks at Alite are known for some innovative takes on gear, and this is no exception. Using the same collapsible shock-cord technology found in many tent pole setups, they’ve created a compact, practical tool for point-and-shoot photographers.
With a stake on one end, a ball-head mount for positioning, and standard hardware that’s claimed to fit any standard camera’s tripod thread, it’s a pretty simple concept. And perhaps a good one at that. Used with the Glif attachment (also available only on Photojojo, apparently) you can even mount your iPhone/iPod on the thing.
You could also probably roast marshmallows on it, if you want. But you don’t have to. I’m not going to tell you what to do with your life.
For 28 bucks, you at least have to hope this will be a better way to take your profile pics than the arm’s length approach. Smile!
