I know, most are seen in colder weather, but this was a warm late spring night. I at first thought I was hearing a breeze in the trees. But I noticed the trees weren't moving. I then realized the "breeze" was matching the pattern shifts in the lights. I should add that I lived near Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
